RV Organization

Published by scothwarner at 11:08 am under 1 Edit This

Getting organized and staying that way is one way to make life easier in a RV.

1. Have a container with dividers labeled by the month for receipts, campground maps and other printed material you want to keep. Being divided this way will make findingthe material when needed easier.

2. When you take photographs, take the time at that moment to write down in a small notebook, the date, time, place and a caption to remember it.

3. Make the bed everyday. An unmade bed is often visible throughout the RV and emits a feeling of messiness over the whole interior.

4. When you start a task, complete it before moving on to the next one.

5. Put things away when you are done with them. Things that are not put away get in the way, so to save time and frustration put it away when done with it.

6. Standing or items such as books, magazines and file folders on end takes less storage space and makes them easier to find.

7. Store items near where they’ll be used (example: dishes should be stored above the dining area).

8. Make a list of the credit or debit cards you have with you with the contact number in case they are lost or stolen. Keep in a secure place.

9. When you do the laundry in a campground facility and you don’t stay with laundry, set the timer on the microwave or an egg time to remind you.

10. Put all your remote controls in a basket and label them. Then you will know which remote controls which electronic device.

11. Use a separate set of towels and sheets of a different color from what you use at home. You’ll know exactly what goes in the RV.

12. Leave your home neat and clean. When you return you’ll be happy you did.

13. Make reverse lists to help with stocking perishable food for weekend trips. Forthe first trip of the season, plan our menus, making a shopping list, and stock the kitchen. As items are used up, list them on a shopping list in the RV. When you arrive home after a trip, you won’t have to remember what you left in the RV, just replace the used items on your repacking list.

14. For storage of valuables or for canned goods, pull out the bottom drawer of the cabinet. There is always space between the floor and the bottom of the drawer, usually nicely padded with carpet.
